This year, SEIU Arizona members have a unique opportunity to help change the face of Arizona politics. All members of the Arizona State Legislature – our representatives and senators – are up for election and we’re going to help those who support the issues that are important to working families win.

Our goal is simple. We need to elect legislators who support public service employees. A simple goal, but one that will take some hard work to accomplish.

That’s why we’ve started the Purple Brigade – and that’s why you should become an active member. If we get involved as volunteers in selected state and local campaigns, we can make a big difference in competitive races. And we’ll be working to elect candidates from either party – if they express support for our issues.

It’s a real commitment
Becoming a member of the Purple Brigade is probably not for everyone. To join, you’ll have to commit to a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer time between now and the end of the year. You’ll have to take responsibility for political actions and report regularly to your Team Leader. And you’ll have to attend our SEIU Arizona Political Conference on a date to be announced.

For campaign veterans – or those making their first decision to really get involved – Purple Brigade membership will often be fun, sometimes exciting and always rewarding to know that you have helped make a real difference for our jobs and for the community we all serve.

This year, we have a very good chance to make some important changes that will ultimately have a positive impact on our wages, benefits and working conditions.
