What's In the Health Care Reform Package?

Take a look at National Health Reform: The Facts / Q&A, a fact sheet prepared by SEIU.

And How will it Help Us in Arizona?

Families USA have prepared this report ...

We Did It!

Sunday, March 21, 2010 began as the first full day of Spring and ended with a landmark vote in the US House of Representatives that - finally - makes health care reform a reality.

On Tuesday, March 23, President Barack Obama signed the health care bill into law, bringing a successful conclusion to more than a year of intense debate and decades of failed attempts to fix our broken, expensive health care system.

SEIU members in Arizona and across the country have been working hard on this issue for years because we know that real health care reform is vital to the well-being and security of working families everywhere.

We want to thank all of you who signed petitions, attended health care rallies, made phone calls and did the hard work of advocacy for something we truly believe is necessary to the future success of our country.

Please take the time to thank the five members of Arizona's Congressional delegation who stood up and made the courageous decision to vote for the House bill.  It's important to let our elected leaders know how we feel when they get it right, too.  By their actions, they demonstrated the kind of leadership we need to make things better for our families and communities.

Contact Congressman Harry Mitchell (CD 5) to tell him you support his decision to vote YES on health care reform.

You can also send your comments by email to the following Representatives who also voted Yes:

Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick (CD 1)

Congressman Ed Pastor (CD 4)

Congressman Raul Grijalva (CD 7)

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (CD 8)

This victory for health care reform shows once again that, working together, we can achieve amazing results - even against the powerful, well-financed opponents of reform who threw everything they had into the fight.

What Health Insurance Reform Means for Arizonans

The US House of Representatives passed the Affordable Health Care for America Act in an historic vote on November 7, 2009.

Now, in early 2010, Americans are on the verge of creating a health care system that makes affordable, quality healthcare available to just about everyone.

Five of the eight US Representatives from Arizona have voted for health insurance reform.  They are Congressmen Ed Pastor (CD4), Harry Mitchell (CD5) and Raul Grijalva (CD7) and Congresswomen Ann Kirkpatrick (CD2) and Gabrielle Giffords (CD8).

Three Congressmen have voted against health care reform.  They are Trent Franks (CD2), John Shadegg (CD3) and Jeff Flake (CD6).

Here is what health care insurance reform would mean to the people in each of our eight Congressional Districts:
