Nominations for Local and Chapter OfficesSEIU AZ

Nominations for all Local and Chapter officers are open as of October 12, 2015 until October, 30 2015. As provided in SEIU Arizona 48 Constitution & Bylaws, to be eligible for office, a member must be in good standing since November, 20 2013. Under the Local Constitution the term of office is for three years. Nominating petitions are available on the Local website, www.seiuaz.org, at the Union Hall, 877 S. Alvernon Way, Suite 100, Tucson, AZ 85711 and from any Chapter officer or steward.

The Local and Chapter officers to be elected and the number of members needed to nominate are listed below.  Members may nominate themselves.  Nominating petitions must be received by October 30, 2015 and can be delivered/returned/mailed to the Local Elections Committee in person or via US Postal Service to the Tucson Office.

Members may run for both Local Secretary and either Chapter Chairperson, Vice Chairperson or Local Executive Board Member (separate nominating petitions are required).  Members may also run for both Chapter Vice Chairperson and Local Executive Board Member (separate nominating petitions are required).

The Election of SEIU Arizona 48 officers will be conducted by secret ballot via U.S. mail. Ballots must be received via mail by November 20th in order to be counted. The ballot count will be held on November 20, 2015, at 5:30pm at 877 S. Alvernon Way, Tucson AZ, 85711. Each candidate and one representative will be allowed to monitor the tabulation of the ballots. The Election Committee will be present.


Local 48 Officers – 8 members need to sign nominating petitions

President, Executive Board member by virtue of office

Vice President, Executive Board member by virtue of office

Treasurer, Executive Board member by virtue of office

Secretary, Executive Board member by virtue of office and may also be a Chapter officer (a separate nominating petition is required for each office)


Chandler Chapter – 1 members need to sign nominating petitions

Chairperson, Local Executive Board member by virtue of office

Local Executive Board Member, may also be a Chapter Vice Chairperson (separate nominating petitions required)

Local Trustee, non-voting Executive Board Member by virtue of office

Vice Chairperson for Labor and Trades, may also be a Local Executive Board Member (separate nominating petitions required)


Gilbert Chapter – 1 member needs to sign nominating petitions

Local Trustee, non-voting Executive Board Member by virtue of office
