There are two upcoming opportunities to be involved in the selection of the next Director of the Pima County Public Library system. I hope you’ll not only attend one of these events but also wear your purple and represent your union. We must make our voices heard!
The first of these two events is a public reception to meet the candidates for Director of the Pima County Public Library system. The reception will be held at the Z Mansion, located in downtown Tucson at 288 N Church Ave. It will take place on Thursday, February 23 from 4pm-6pm. Four finalists for the position will be available to meet members of the public, provide background on their qualifications and answer a limited number of questions. Don’t forget that if you’re a taxpayer, you’re a member of the public as well as being a county employee. Please RSVP to email@example.com.
The second of the events is for library staff and will take place on Friday, February 24 from 8am-9:30am at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library. Library staff, please refer to our intranet for instructions on how to submit questions for this event.
The library department, like all of the departments that serve Pima County, provides crucial services to many people. I hope you’ll make plans to attend an event and weigh in on this process.
